This afternoon, President Obama will be welcoming American students back to school at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Obama will undoubtedly reiterate the historical commitment to educating American children and call on students nationwide to take advantage of the educational opportunities in existence today.

 Short and Tweet Scholarship

Students in personal finance are learning how to make college affordable.  Through research of grants, scholarships, and the FAFSA, one student stumbled upon a scholarship that requires 140 characters or less.  That's right!!! Tweeting can earn a student $1,000 for their college education.

To apply for the scholarship requires the following steps:

1. Log on to or Create a Twitter Account
2. Follow Scholarships.com and reply to them with your answer to the following question:
• “What would an extra $1,000 for college mean to you?” 
3. Once you do this, you are automatically entered to win a $1,000 scholarship or one of two Kindles!
   
4. You may enter as many times as you would like...but be reasonable with your number of tweets.

All submissions are due by September 30, 2011
